Cosy and old-fashioned. Has a lot of character and charm. That said, it is a bit rundown. For example, the shower head had been disconnected from the wall in my room (I had not been told about this) so had to hold it up to shower. Also, having a room facing the street is not actually a positive because of the noise generated by the bar / restaurant across the street. Staff at the reception were lovely at all times.

Location was excellent, car park nearby. The room was ok (except for the noise - see below). The staff were very helpful in locating a laptop charger we'd left behind in error, and posting it on to us in the UK.

Very convenient for all local attractions. Our family room in annex was great as it had a mezzanine level for our teen son. Loved the historic artefacts relating to WW2 - the hotel was a hospital at time of DDay.
