The B&B room was in a safe, clean 2nd floor apartment in the centre of the historic Castello district - a 100m from the Cathedral on one side and 100m from the Bastione Santa Croce on the other side. There were 3 lockable rooms and a shared kitchen. Our room had a large double bed and a single bed. We used the latter as a storage surface for the cases etc. The room had a small private bathroom that was clean. However, the shower was a disappointment. It was very small with a flimsy door and staining of the sealant at the bottom. It could do with being replaced by a larger shower as there appears to be ample space at the rear. The first night we did not put the air conditioning on and left the two sets of windows partially open. It was noisy and a little hot. The subsequent nights we used the air-conditioning and closed the windows. What a difference - no noise and cool - perfect. There was not a kitchenette nor tea / coffee facilities in the room but these were available in the shared kitchen. The shared kitchen was very useful for preparing / eating lunch and dinner. We were concerned about arriving late by public transport. We ended up walking from the train station as this was simpler. The whole of the Castello area in particular seemed very safe and we did not encounter any problems.

Helpful staff who responded quickly to questions, contactless check in late in the evening after my arrival in Cagliari. Typical sweet breakfast for bed and breakfast type of accommodation in Italy. Ten minute walk from the building to restaurants, bars, shops etc.
