“A perfect, traditional place to stay, couldn't recommend more”

Yado Kiramachi is an exceptional place to stay, Tada who runs the property goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect, even helping us with a dental emergency. The location is great, it is down a quiet street yet at the end of the road is the bus stop where you seem to be able to get a bus to pretty much anywhere you would want to go. The accommodation itself was fantastic, very clean, fantastic shower (very important to my daughter!), the futons were comfy (although remember you have to get down to them!) and the little hot tub, oh my, that has got to be the best way to relax tired legs and feet after a long day. Tada gave us some excellent local restaurant recommendations as well, the sushi place just up the road was the best we had. Tada, thank you so much, we look forward to staying with you again.

It was a fantastic stay. It is a traditional japanese style hotel and the service was amazing. Highlight is the wooden bath tube at the terrace. Love it!

Loved the traditional ryokan style rooms & hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming, kind and attentive. The room we booked was stunning, spacious (very spacious for 2) and was the perfect place to retreat to after long days of exploring Kyoto! The hot tub and open air shower in the terrace were so lovely for relaxing at the end of the day! All amenities were provided for; the robes were stunning. Furniture is typical ryokan style (all furniture at floor level) which we loved, with some regular chairs in the terrace and living room. The traditional Shojin temple-style breakfast was unlike anything we’d had before and was so lovely! The hotel is very well located and in walking distance to NISHIKI market (about 10-15 minutes) and very close to Shijo station (less than a 10 minute walk). We were also given a lovely take away token which was such a nice touch. We couldn’t recommend this place more.

Yado Kiramachi is very central. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. facilities are great. We are definitely going back.
