A stunning location in the Tuscan countryside with a fantastic pool. Friendly, welcoming hosts (on site but extremely discreet) who speak English and who gave us some great recommendations for places to visit and eat. A couple of supermarkets within a 20-25 minute drive and a well equipped kitchen for self catering. Lots of child friendly features including gates pool, stair gates, toys, bed guards and cutlery). Close enough to lots of lovely places to visit such as Arezzo, Anghiari, Lake Trasimeno, Cortona, with Florence and Sienna do-able in a day.

We loved the spacious house, the peaceful setting and the private pool. The owners were on hand for anything we needed and offered great suggestions on lovely local villages to discover.

We had the most wonderful 2 weeks at Villa Mulino - 2 adults, 2 boys (6&11) with grandparents staying for a few days here and there. The house itself is brilliant - enough space for everyone, comfortable beds and whilst I was very concerned the lack of air con would be an issue the fans provided were actually great. There were some very hot days whilst we were there (almost 40degrees) but the house itself stays relatively cool. The pool is perfect - 1.5m deep all the way - my boys had the best time swimming all day I’m amazed they haven’t grown gills! The pool is not in eye sight of the Villa but it is fenced and up some steps so would imagine would feel secure for younger children. There is so much space around the Villa for the kids to run free, and the chickens were a source of great entertainment and excitement - collecting fresh eggs each morning was the highlight of our youngest’s day! The house is well equipped - the kitchen has all the essentials and the owners are so welcoming and helpful. They live right next door which on first impressions is slightly jarring but as all other reviewers have said it made zero difference to our holiday and we didn’t see them unless we sought them out to ask questions. They were fantastic at booking tables for us and for local knowledge, super friendly and helpful and having them on site actually worked out for the best. Location wise - the Villa is slightly more remote than we had anticipated and not much to do shopping/eating wise within very close driving distance. Monterchi itself is very pretty but extremely quiet. We did several day trips to Arezzo, Cortona, Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia which we’re all beautiful and ticked the culture box - Approx an hour more or less each from the Villa. Overall I’d say this villa is the perfect place to relax with all the family in the Tuscan/Umbrian countryside.

Lovely hosts, the children loved feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs. Perfect with small children (fenced property & pool). Very quiet location, perfect if you want to relax.
